Our Company History

Stirchley Burger Co Ltd was formed in 2003 by Carl Bishop and Mark Austin. Both Carl and Mark are both meat industry specialists with a combined experience of over 40 years in burger manufacturing.

Both Carl and Mark were previously employed by Mawbeef Manufacturing Ltd / Canterbury Foods Ltd until the decision was made to close the Stirchley site in 2001. In May 2003 they obtained our EEC Licence and began to trade.

The name Stirchley Burger Company was chosen as many wholesalers associated the Mawbeef Burger (brand leader at the time) with the town of Stirchley.

The company soon grew to become a leading manufacturer of Quality Burgers, and after much interest during 2006 in the growth, investment and job creation shown by Stirchley Burger Co, the company won The Birmingham Post Business Award.

With several stages of new investment, Stirchley Burger Co Ltd has grown to both comply with the ongoing updates in Food Hygiene Legislation and to maintain its capacity to supply orders from 1 to 26 pallets with no loss of service.
